Incredible photographs complement Goodall’s latest book about the chimpanzees she loves, with the focus on young chimps and their families. Written for younger readers, Goodall writes in easy, conversational text, inviting students to join her for a day in Gombe. The photographs of chimpanzee families parallel the normal activities that young children are familiar with, playing, eating and caring for each other. A telling two page spread shows pictures of young chimps opposite children who are doing the same thing as the chimp. Other animals are also portrayed; baboons, butterflies, and finches. A positive book about the similarities between ourselves and our closest animal relatives.
