Levi and Riley are ten years old and best friends, planning a summer of fun – riding bike trails, practising bike jumps, and looking for adventure [R until Levi’s bike is stolen. Two days later, Riley’s lock is broken and his bike is stolen, too. Thus begins their summer adventure of sleuthing for clues, looking for suspects, posting signs, talking to anyone who might have been a witness, and generally doing everything they can think of to get their bikes back. In the process, they meet some interesting townsfolk, and get help from an unlikely friend. From Canmore, Alberta, Hutchins creates a genuine small town setting, believable characters, authentic dialogue, and well-written prose for young readers. A good beginning novel for Division 1 students.
