The illustrations of Bulldozer Helps Out are very child friendly with bright colours and simple designs.  Both the simple and open story and illustrations are reminiscent of Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site. The illustrator, Eric Rohmann has won both a Caldecott Medal and Caldecott Honor.   He used block print when creating the art for Bulldozer Helps Out.
This is an excellent book for children ages 3 to 7 who love big machines, or just love to help out and think they are also up for “tough” jobs.
