The information is presented in straightforward text using simple sentence structures, with large font and double-spaced text. The information is organized into four chronologically ordered chapters that explore the person’s early life, young adulthood, achievements, and the later years. Full page, captioned photographs on the page opposite the text give young readers many picture clues to extend the limited text. This series includes the important text features that we need to teach young readers how to explore non-fiction books efficiently ﾖ Table of Contents, Index, Glossary, Bibliography including print and websites. In addition, there is a horizontal timeline at the bottom of each text page, with the new key dates and events added as they are explained in the text aboveﾖ an excellent example for teaching timeline at any elementary grade.
