Every Color Soup

Reviewed by:

A perfect read-aloud for aspiring cooks and their families.
All you need to make Every Color Soup are kitchen utensils, and different colored vegetables to create a yummy soup. Characteristically of her other picture books for young children, the author/illustrator uses only one word/page to convey how to make soup using colorful vegetables and other ingredients. The simplicity of the text and illustrations makes for an engaging, easy read.  The final page includes a typical recipe, including the ingredients and directions for making the soup.
This is a perfect book for summarizing children’s knowledge of colours and healthy vegetables to create something delicious to taste.¬† Suitable for kindergarten cooking classes and grade one students who are studying Alberta’s Science curriculum: Colours and Senses.
