Slow and steady wins the race! Award Winner author/illustrator Jerry Pinkey, brings to life the well-known Aesop fable of the Tortoise and the Haren the American Southwesti with a total of only 27 words. This fable is told mainly through action packed overpowering images often requiring readers to slow down and read the illustrations carefully, so as not to miss new details to the classic tale. A mixture of watercolour, graphite, colored pencils, gouache and pastels were used to create his illustrations. From end paper to end paper, the story is filled with deeply detailed animals in action, which moves the story along at a pace that is both quickened and slowed down at the same time. _x000D_
