Wetlands Inside Out

Reviewed by:

Good grade five wetland resources can be difficult to find. Crabtree has come to the rescue with Wetlands Inside Out. Part of their Ecosystems series, it has information clearly laid out in colourful two-page spreads. Beginning with discussing ecosystems in general, it then moves to spreads about differing types of wetlands; bogs, estuaries and tidal flat marshes. Finally, there are four spreads about wetland areas in the world. It would be too much to hope that one of those areas was in Alberta, however there is some Canadian content in the spread of the Hudson Bay Lowlands (useful for extra information for grade five Canadian regions studies!). Overall information is shared and then a short insert about an animal from that type of wetland. While not chock-full of information, this is a good, readable resource that students will easily understand. Grade 2-6
